Elvezia and I have worked in the wine business for most of our lives. Elvezia is a northern Italian wine-marketing expert and I am a California winemaker. We fell in love with Puglia and made it our home when we decided to start our own brand. After making wine and building brands for so many others we knew what we wanted our wine to be like: an incredible, concentrated, dark colored, full-bodied sensuous wine made from Primitivo.
Our mission is to produce a GREAT wine that you can still afford to enjoy! A. Mano comes from the heart of the Primitivo area, In the low hills east of Taranto. The region is an old sea bed, full of fossils of dams, oysters and urchins The altitude is approximately 30-60 meters above sea level (100-200 feet). Annual rainfall is 35 centimeters (14 inches The climate is classically Mediterranean as Puglia (the heel of the boot) Is a peninsula between the Adriatic and the lonian seas.
A. Mano is a stunning example of a chewy, jam-packed, rich, deep, dark purple wine. There is an incredible concentration of black currant and ripe raspberry scents that go on forever along with a rainbow of plum, blueberry, tar, leather, anise and cedar. The complexity of aromas and the soft, velvety tannins linger on the long, long finish. This is the kind of wine that you will never tire of tasting as it reveals a new treasure with each sip.

This wine has great berry fruit and a pleasing aroma that is not as spicy as some of its California relatives. Soft tannins and a lingering finish, it pairs well with lamb, pork and grilled beef. Rich, complex, and fun.
