Rated 93 - Reflecting an early pass over a great many – including some of his best – parcels, Adam’s 2008 Dhronhofberger Riesling Kabinett smells alluringly of green tea, ocean breeze, and diverse flowers, then offers a buoyant, wafting and bracingly saline palate to match. Lime, grapefruit, and white peach offer a succulent, refreshing matrix transparent to the interplay of floral and mineral nuances. The finish here is strikingly buoyant and exuberant, leaving the palate both refreshed and aquiver with lasting flavors. Certainly this tastes sweet, but I was still astonished to realize that it went up to 65 grams of residual sugar in order to achieve its particular sense of near-weightlessness. Just goes to show one should never be dogmatic or prejudiced, but just in case, always look at the analysis only after you taste! This remarkable expression of its vintage, Pradikat, and site should be worth following for at least 12-15 years. - Robert Parker
