California Wine, Sonoma County

About Arrowood Vineyard Wines

Arrowood Winery wines are crafted from grapes sourced exclusively from prestigious vineyards in Sonoma County. The broad array of flavors provided by the diverse viticultural areas (Sonoma, Dry Creek, Russian River, Knights and Alexander Valleys and Los Carneros) allows Richard Arrowood Winery to layer flavors based on the characteristics that each vineyard delivers. Richard has been making wine in Sonoma County for more than three decades and thrives on the artistic freedom offered by the vineyards in these distinct appellations. Our non-interventional approach to winemaking enhances what Mother Nature provides and our judicious use of oak-aging results in wines that are rich, bold, intense and complex.

Arrowood Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Réserve Spéciale

According to Richard Arrowood, this wine is everything it is supposed to be and more. It’s loaded with black cherry nuances reminiscent of sweet cherry syrup. Hints of aromatic cedar, coffee, tobacco and chocolate mix with the cherry component, and additionally add an earthy element to the blend. Ripe fruit and mature tannins dominate the luscious, velvety mouthfeel.

Arrowood Winery Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma County

This Cabernet Sauvignon is layered and complex, and follows in the tradition we established with our first vintage. From the deep, dark color to the intense aromas of black cherry and cassis, to the mouthwatering flavors of dark berries and crème de cassis, each layer unfolds slowly and deliberately.

Arrowood Winery Merlot Sonoma County

The inky, ruby-red color of this lovely wine only hints at the intense, concentrated aromatics and flavors to follow. Forward flavors of blackberry, plum and dark cherry syrup stand out against a backdrop of creamy vanilla and warm brown spice. Beautifully balanced with a soft, luscious mouthfeel, mature tannins and a long, oak-sweetened finish, this wine is just begging to be paired with rich foods such as leg of lamb or minestrone.

Arrowood Winery Côte de Lune Rouge

Our 2000 Cote de Lune is a lovely blend of Syrah, Grenache Noir, Cinsault, Mourvèdre and Viognier from Saralee’s Vineyard in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County. Heady aromas of candied spice, currants and pepper rise in the glass. These same aromas carry over to the palate, where supple tannins, a silky texture and a long, graceful finish complete the picture.

Arrowood Winery Syrah, Saralee's Vineyard

The 2000 Saralee’s Vineyard Syrah is one of a series of great wines from Saralee’s Vineyard; it is packed with personality, reflecting the depth and intensity of the 2000 vintage.

Arrowood Winery Syrah, Dry Creek Valley, Kuljian Vineyard

Distinctive and dramatic, the 2000 Syrah from Kuljian Vineyard is packed with personality, reflecting the depth and intensity of this vintage. In the nose, concentrated aromas of anisette, Chinese camphor and dark cherry are followed by a slight trace of dry Asian herbs. Rich, dark fruit flavors and aging in French oak barrels gives the wine a captivating sweetness on the palate that stands out beautifully against a background of earthier, smoky notes.

Arrowood Winery La Rose, Sonoma County

Grenache Noir is the primary fruit in the blend and offers up lots of lush, juicy, lip-smacking fruit, while Syrah provides the framework. Mourvèdre gives a profound fruit character and a splash of Viognier helps to bring out the wonderful fruit and honeysuckle aromas.

Arrowood Winery Chardonnay Réserve Spéciale, Cuvée Michel Berthoud

In the glass, the wine offers up delicate aromas of peach, pear, melon and hints of apple in the background. As the result of additional barrel aging, flavors of honeydew melon and peach mingle with rather pronounced clove and cinnamon spice in the mouth.

Arrowood Winery Pinot Blanc, Saralee's Vineyard

Here at Arrowood Vineyards, we have a long-standing love affair with Pinot Blanc; this release marks our 10th vintage, and it looks like one of our best yet. The 2001 Pinot Blanc is a seductive, fruit-driven wine, with forward aromas of melon, pineapple and peach. Floral and vanilla nuances hover in the background, creating a beautiful backdrop upon which the more forward fruit characteristics can shine.

Arrowood Winery Côte de Lune Blanc, Russian River Valley, Saralee's Vineyard

The 2001 Cote de Lune Blanc, our second vintage of this wine, is an absolute stunner. The nose is particularly complex, with mouth-watering aromas of fresh pineapple and hints of butterscotch, coconut and jasmine in the background. On the palate, the weighty flavors carry through from the nose, ending with a rich, butterscotch finish.
