Di Majo Norante Winery

Italian Wine, Southern Italy

About Di Majo Norante Vineyard Wines

The Di Majo Norante winery is located to the north of the Gargano in Molise on the estate of the Marquis Norante of Santa Cristina. This estate has been dedicated to the cultivation of vines since the 1800s. In the 1960s a modern cantina was constructed and vines were replanted in the Ramitello zone. Optimal exposure, constant breezes during the summer, excellent soil composition and a slope toward the Sciabolone and Madonna Grande valleys, blend together to create a particularly favorable environment for the production of wine.

Alessio Di Majo strives to produce the best quality possible at a price that is extremely affordable to the consumer. To insure consistenly high quality, he has hired renowned enologist, Riccardo Cotarella as a consultant.

In another example of his dedication to quality wine and environmentally sound agriculture, Alessio di Majo makes his wines from organically grown grapes. The winery received certification from AIAB (Associazione Italiana per Agricoltura Biologica) in 1997.

Di Majo Norante Winery Aglianico CONTADO

Aglianico CONTADO has a beautiful dark ruby color, and an intense and sweet nose with ripe cherry aromas. The mouth is fresh, well-balanced and structured. The tannins are fine and fat, with well-judged hints of wood. Good length, supported by intense primary notes of fruit.

Di Majo Norante Winery Biblos

Rich aromas of pineapple and almonds, with hints of honey. Full-bodied, with plenty of pie crust and honey character...

Di Majo Norante Winery Cabernet Sauvignon

Musky aromas of briary currant and chocolate, with a suggestion of candied berries. Nicely sweet and textured... Shows an intriguing herbal character and decent length.

Di Majo Norante Winery Falanghina

Very perfumed aromas, with lots of freshly sliced lime. Medium-bodied, with good fruit and a delicious almond and honey aftertaste. Good buy in Italian whites.

Di Majo Norante Winery Greco

A white fruit-scented nose, medium body, excellent freshness, a lively personality, and a fleshy, moderately long finish.

Di Majo Norante Winery Ramitello Rosso

Aromatic nose combines blackberry, smoke and pungent herbs and spices. At once sweet and juicy, with nicely delineated flavors of currant, tar and bitter chocolate. Well-structured, persistent wine with good character.

Di Majo Norante Winery San Giorgio Sangiovese

This may be the finest value in pure Sangiovese in the marketplace...A great buy, it is an embarrassment to 90% of the California Sangioveses that sell for three to five times the price...and are inferior wines. This deep ruby-colored 2000 offers an expressive perfume of sweet black cherries, new saddle leather, and spice. This fleshy, fruit-driven Sangiovese is a total treat to drink.
