To make fine wines from our own premium Sonoma County vineyards that would be the best California had to offer and that would rival the best the world has to offer. This has been Ferrari-Carano Winery goal since we founded Ferrari-Carano Vineyards and Winery in 1981 and we have enjoyed every moment of watching our goal become a reality. The key to our success and our Ferrari-Carano wine style is the separate vinification and blending of small lots of wine. To achieve the best quality grapes from Ferrari-Carano Winery vineyards, we practice individualized wine growing and winemaking techniques for the fruit from each vine. In simple terms, you might say this all sounds like a true labour of love… It is! We are constantly surprised by the excellent results. Look for Ferrari-Carano Winery wines in your favorite restaurants and wine shops. Enjoy the deep flavors and consistent high quality of Ferrari-Carano wines.
Ferrari-Carano Winery Zinfandel
Dry Creek Valley means Zinfandel! And our winery is in the middle of it, surrounded by the estate vineyards where we grow our Zinfandel grapes. Classic blackberry, plum and black cherry flavors, peppery spice aromas, all the classic elements of world-class Zin come together in this fabulous wine.
Ferrari-Carano Winery TreTerre Chardonnay
Picked at perfect ripeness, the grapes were fermented in new French oak barrels and stirred on the lees to integrate fruit and oak into a creamy silky texture. Peach, honey and pear flavors mingle with toasted almond and vanilla for additional dimension.
Ferrari-Carano Winery Merlot
Ferrari-Carano Merlot gives you the rich, deep flavors of fine red Bordeaux grapes without the heavy tannins of young Cabernets. Our Alexander and Dry Creek Valley vineyards produce superior Merlot grapes for a soft, velvety wine with rich concentrated fruit and supple tannins. An outstanding red dinner wine.
Ferrari-Carano Winery Fume Blanc
When it came to crafting a crisp, refreshing Fumé Blanc for the 2002 vintage, Ferrari-Carano found that three appellations were better than one. Our 2002 Fumé Blanc reveals a marriage of complementary flavors from the Russian River, Dry Creek and Alexander Valleys. The Russian River Valley fruit imparts crisp acidity, while the Alexander Valley grapes are ripe with honeysuckle and melon. Floral and herbal notes from the Dry Creek Valley round out this wine, making it sensational for summer quaffing. A wine this balanced is the result of extensive experimentation and thoughtful winemaking. Ferrari-Carano has been crafting Fumé Blanc since 1986. Winemaker George Bursick says the 2002 vintage is among the best examples of this variety in the winery’s nearly 20-year history with Fumé Blanc.
Ferrari-Carano Winery Eldorado Noir
Here is a truly unique dessert wine, made from black Muscat grapes grown in our Russian River vineyard. As the grapes ripen slowly in the cool, foggy climate, they reach their full flavor maturity much later than other varieties of grapes. Made only in years when weather conditions permit, this delicious wine is intensely aromatic and fresh and clean in its flavors. A surprise dessert wine to delight everyone’s palate.
Ferrari-Carano Winery Chardonnay
America’s favorite white wine – and why not! Our stylish version of this classic is a blend of Chardonnay grapes from eight of our own vineyards to make a multi-dimensional wine with layers of rich tropical fruit flavors. Carefully aged in French oak barrels for added complexity.
Ferrari-Carano Winery Reserve Chardonnay
A wine in an elegant, well-balanced style, not full of butter an oak like some Reserve Chardonnays. From our cool, windy vineyards in the Carneros region of Napa County come grapes with clean bright acidity and intense aroma. From Our Alexander Valley vineyards in Sonoma County come the rich, tropical notes of classic California Chardonnay. The two sources combine to yield a wine that is beautifully focused and balanced between fruit and oak, with elegance and finesse.
Ferrari-Carano Winery Fume Blanc Reserve
The grapes for this wine are grown in two of our winery-owned vineyards, chosen for the particular aroma and taste components we prize in this wine. Dry Creek Valley grapes provide intense ripe flavors while our cooler climate Storey Creek vineyard in the Russian River valley adds a bright acidity.
Ferrari-Carano Winery Tresor
Our finest red wine, a master blend of all five classic Bordeaux red varieties – Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Offered here in a 3 Liter Bottle, wonderful for gift giving!
Ferrari-Carano Winery Siena
Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon are the classic grapes found in the Italian “super-Tuscan” red wine blend. They take on a new dimension when grown in Sonoma County’s earthy burnt orange soils. SIENA combines bright raspberry, cherry flavors with smooth tannins and a rich finish for a red wine taste treat that matches so many foods.
