The 2013 Secateurs Rose is a blend of 57% Cinsault, 27% Shiraz and 16% Grenache. It has a bright cherry color. The nose is a little subdued at first opening with light cherry notes, but there is plenty of crisp red cherry and citrus fruit on the palate that offers tension and crispness that complements the weight that the Shiraz component lends. This is a delicious rose. Drink now.

Region: Coastal Region

The coastal region of South Africa is one of the most prodigious and productive wine regions on earth, and one which covers a vast distance making up for most of the tip of the African continent. The history of South African wines is a fascinating and surprisingly long one, with the very first wines in the country being produced by settlers in the 1650s, long before many other New World countries had even been discovered.
