About Lambert Bridge Vineyard and Winery

Lambert Bridge Winery mission is to produce the world's finest Merlot, along with other limited releases expressing the character of Dry Creek Valley. The wines are crafted to reflect Lambert Bridge's distinctive house style - balanced, complex and refined. Lambert Bridge Winery prides itself on its uncompromising quest for quality, deep respect for the natural environment and unwavering loyalty and commitment to its employees, growers and customers.

Lambert Bridge Winery 2002 Sauvignon Blanc

The 2002 Dry Creek Valley Sauvignon Blanc is a flavorful marriage of citrus and grass; hints of grapefruit rind and sweet alfalfa combine with just the right acidity resulting in a zesty wine. The oak presence softens the overall effect and contributes to the slightly spicy finish. The addition of Viognier to the blend enhances the aroma and produces a wine with a rounder, fuller character. With its heady aromas and fresh crisp flavors, the 2002 Dry Creek Valley Sauvignon Blanc easily pairs with spicy, assertive dishes such as herbed goat cheese salad or a roasted garlic and lemon shrimp risotto.

Lambert Bridge Winery 2001 Chardonnay

Our 2001 Chardonnay combines fruit from several cool climate vineyards, bringing depth of fruit and bright acidity to the wine. Winemaker Julia Iantosca puts the wine through 100% malolactic fermentation giving it hints of butter while retaining a ripe fruit impression on the palate. Sur lies aging in 40% new oak results in a wine with a rich, creamy texture reminiscent of crème brûlée. Aromas of pear and citrus blossom combine with flavors of toasted hazelnut. We recommend pairing this wine with potato leek soup linguine with scallops and Meyer lemon or poached pears.

Lambert Bridge Winery 2002 Viognier

The 2002 Viognier Damiano Vineyards is an exotic, fragrant wine with an alluring array of aromas and flavors. With its ripe apricot scent and full bodied texture, this is a wine that is quite pleasurable to drink. Hints of vanilla and spice emerge from barrel fermentation and aging but don’t detract from its blossomy overtones. This wine makes an elegant aperitif that also pairs well with aromatic, full flavored foods such as Thai steamed mussels or a chilled peach soup with foie gras. As the temperatures start to climb, think Viognier!

Lambert Bridge Winery 2001 Zinfandel

The 2001 Zinfandel is the first vintage to include grapes from our Winery Ranch Vineyard which is planted with a Dry Creek Valley heritage clone. Blending in small amounts of Syrah, Carignane and Petite Sirah, winemaker Julia Iantosca has produced an elegant wine of classic raspberry and briary fruit characteristics. This wine exhibits concentration of fruit and supple, rounded tannins that will allow the wine to age gracefully over the next several years. Ripe berry fruit with rich jammy overtones, hints of vanilla and French roast coffee from the oak. Pair with Liberty Duck carnitas, homemade macaroni and cheese or a burger from the barbecue.

Lambert Bridge Winery 2001 Old Vine Cuvée

Old Vine Cuvée is an Italian-style field blend of 64% Zinfandel and 36% Petite Sirah from the Bacchi Vineyard, a 97-year-old, dry farmed vineyard located on Limerick Lane in the Russian River Valley. This robust wine is loaded with luscious berry fruit and lots of spice, giving the wine a nice density and texture. The 2001 Old Vine has briary fruit from the Zinfandel, zesty pepper from the Petite Sirah and a smooth, silky mouth feel. We recommend serving this wine with ratatouille, barbecued ribs or grilled marinated tri-tip.

Lambert Bridge Winery 2000 Merlot

Merlot is the flagship varietal for Lambert Bridge and winemaker Julia Iantosca has captured the essence of Lambert Bridge's signature wine with this 2000 vintage. While the composition may vary slightly from vintage to vintage, this Bordeaux-style blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec continues to produce a rich, full-bodied wine with refined tannins and soft supple textures. Aromas of ripe berry, cassis and plum are balanced by flavors of tea, cedar and tobacco. This new release is composed primarily of Dry Creek fruit with a small percentage from the Sonoma Valley. Smooth, round and radiant, this wine displays bright fruit character allowing it to be partnered with a wide range of foods. Delicious now paired with grilled porterhouse steak topped with blue cheese butter or a fresh tomato and mozzarella salad; this wine will continue to improve with age.

Lambert Bridge Winery 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon

Our first bottling since the 1994 vintage, the 2000 Dry Creek Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is dark plum in color with heady aromas of ripe black currant and vanilla oak. This medium-bodied wine has rich, round mouth feel and hints of cassis, green olive and cinnamon spice. Hillside Cabernet grapes from Rancho Arroyo Seco and TMV yield a wine of richness and intensity. The addition of Merlot from the Abbe vineyard brings depth of fruit while Cabernet Franc from Jones vineyard provides aromatics and length on the palate. These vineyards come together to demonstrate the nuances of the Dry Creek Valley appellation at its best. Elegant and refined on the palate, drink this wine now or cellar for three to five years. A perfect accompaniment to hearty beef stew, grilled portabella mushrooms or rich chocolate cake.

Lambert Bridge Winery 2000 Crane Creek Cuvée

Crane Creek Cuvée is Lambert Bridge Winery’s proprietary blend, crafted from our finest barrel lots. Winemaker Julia Iantosca has carefully selected the best fruit from various vineyard sites. This classic Bordeaux-style wine has rich flavors that are the hallmark of grapes grown in the Dry Creek Valley—cassis, cedar and sweet brown spice. Hints of vanilla and toast are combined with aromas of clove and nutmeg. Produced only in the best years, the 2000 vintage is well balanced with bright cherry flavors, supple textures and firm tannins. Delicious now, this wine will complement a variety of foods and will continue to improve with cellaring. We recommend serving this wine with satuéed Liberty duck breast or grilled pork tenderloin with a roasted beet-cranberry sauce.
