Rated 93. Deep yellow. Highly complex nose melds lemon drop, iodine and minerals, plus a suggestion of redcurrant. Very firmly structured but not hard, with terrific nerve and lift to the fruit. Firm acidity and intriguing hints of minerals and flowers leaven the wine's sweetness. At 3.3, this has the lowest pH of these 2005s. At once juicy and mouthfilling on the very long finish, which throws off hints of nutmeg and smoke. Conveys a strong impression of soil character. -Stephen Tanzer.
