All of Philip Togni's wines are bottled with neither fining nor filtration, and, as Togni likes to say, "made as Bordeaux was ... a long, long time ago." Togni, who bears a striking resemblance to the actor George C. Scott, and is probably both tough and contrary enough to have played the title role in the movie Patton, has finally produced an abundant quantity of his spectacular Cabernet Sauvignon.
Philip Togni Winery Cabernet Sauvignon
The opaque purple-colored Cabernet Sauvignon is a blockbuster monster crammed with phenomenal potential. It offers up a sensational nose of licorice, chocolate, cassis, Provencal herbs, and pain grille. The wine is succulent and full-bodied, as well as extraordinarily powerful and backward. It should be drinkable within 5-7 years, and age beautifully for three decades.
