California Wine, Santa Barbara County
About Rock Rabbit Vineyard Wine
Rock Rabbit Winery produces only Syrah. California coastal Syrah is big, luscious, sexy and hedonistic wine. We source our fruit from Santa Barbara County, the appellation emerging as the preeminent for Syrah in California. California's Santa Barbara County is typically a very warm coastal climate region. Summers are balmy with morning fog and cool ocean breezes in the late afternoon. Rock Rabbit Winery makes it's home here because they believe it is the best spot to slow ripen grapes, extracting great depth of color and complexity of flavors. The Rock Rabbit goes through a gentle press process and is fermented in stainless steel tanks. After approximately 2 weeks, the wine is pressed a second time to extract the best juice. The wine is aged in new French oak and American oak barrels for roughly 8 months and than bottled.
Rock Rabbit Winery Syrah
The wine is a very pretty dark violet color. Gorgeous aromas of stewed cherry, smoke, cedar, a touch of truffle and earth as it opens up. The palate is full of rich and complex layers of cherries and raspberries. Good acidity holds the wine together straight through to the finish. The finish is long, exhibiting an intense explosion of fruit and spice, especially clove.
