Ruffino Winery

Italian Wine, Tuscany

About Ruffino Wines

Chianti Ruffino, followed by Riserva Ducale, was one of the very first wines to cross the Italian border and introduce Italian wine to the world.

The 8 estates of Ruffino are the heart of the company. It is here that they produce the wines that best represent Ruffino's philosophy.

The 7 Tuscan estates extend on 1500 hectares of land, with 600 hectares of vineyards. In Friuli Borgo Conventi, a splendid estate in the Collio DOC area, stretches over 30 hectares of vineyards.

On every estate, in Tuscany as well as in Friuli, Ruffino's winemaking heritage is subject to constant improvement thanks to continuous investments in vineyards, cellars and human resources and every day, through research and experiments, Ruffino's winemakers show their creativity and prove that tradition and innovation can, and must, interact in the production of fine quality wines.

Ruffino Aziano

Aziano is a Tuscan wine which perfectly merges the traditional values of the Chianti Classico territory with the advantages of modern winemaking technology. The grapes used for the production of Aziano are cultivated in the heart of the Chianti Classico area. Its character and fragrant aromas are enhanced through a temperature-controlled fermentation process in stainless steel tanks and a traditional ageing in large Slovenian and French oak barrels. - Winery Notes

Ruffino Chianti 2006

As always this Chianti features a deliciously vinous bouquet, where the floral and fruity notes lead towards a finish of slightly spicy scents of white pepper and hazelnuts. Medium-bodied, harmonious and persistent, Chianti Ruffino is a young Sangiovese which can be perfectly matched with a wide variety of traditional Italian dishes. - Winery

Ruffino Chianti Classico Reserva Ducale Gold 2004

The estate’s flagship 2003 Chianti Classico Riserva Ducale Oro is, as expected, a much more serious wine. It offers notable intensity in its sweet dark cherries, smoke and underbrush with a masculine, somewhat wild personality.

Ruffino Chianti Classico Riserva Ducale Tan 2005

A brilliant, ruby red color, and sweet violet and iris aroma. Full bodied and concentrated. Ruffino has always been a great name and they actually back it up with a little flavor.
