Volteo Winery

Spanish Wine, La Mancha

About Volteo Winery

Volteo Wines has been conceived as a range of wines with an international aim, intended to compete with wines from the New World (Australia, Chile, California, South Africa), that are today so very popular in many markets. These wines have established very specific looks in their presentations, accepted by many consumers who feel positively inclined to them for their simplicity, modern and attractive designs and elegant and easily understood labelling. After several different proposals it is felt that the design chosen for the wines Volteo Wines meets with all those characteristics whilst transmitting a clear Spanish / Mediterranean image by means of its attractive label that stands out on the shelves as an artistic creation.

Volteo Wines are produced in Castilla-La Mancha, a wine region that holds the largest surface of vineyards in the world, covering 600,000 Hectares. This represents 6% of the total vineyard surface worldwide, and half of the total in Spain. Important advancements have taken place in the last years in cultivation techniques, in the introduction of new vine varietals and improved vinification processes that have resulted in noticeable improvements in quality and style.

The chief winemaker of Ramón Bilbao Vinos y Viñedos is Rodolfo Bastida, an experienced riojan winemaker, who is helped by a young and dynamic technical team of viticulture and winemaking experts. They select the best wines in the area of Castilla-La Mancha for blending and ageing the Volteo Wines.
