Dark amber color. Aromas and flavors of pecan pie, brown butter, candied cherries, and clove-spiced orange marmalade with a supple, vibrant, dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body and a smooth, intricate, long finish evoking impressions of vanilla-caramel creme candies, cappuccino, and opera cake. A rich and elegant Straight Bourbon Whiskey with piles of sophisticated style.

Warm and inviting array of baking spices with plum pie, red apple skin, and black peppercorn on the nose. Oaky and incredibly soft on the palate; vanilla and confectionery cherries rush forward with hints of brown sugar and sweet spice on the finish. - 2021 ULTIMATE SPIRITS CHALLENGE
Winery
The first bourbon in our wood-finishing series, Maker's Mark 46™ was created by Bill Samuels, Jr., to amplify the flavors he loves in Maker's Mark®. The innovative wood-stave-finishing process starts with fully matured Maker's Mark® at cask strength. We then insert 10 seared virgin French oak staves into the barrel and finish it for nine weeks in our limestone cellar. The result is Maker's Mark 46: bolder and more complex, but without the bitterness typical of longer-aged whiskies. Want the full Maker's Mark 46 story? AROMA Hints of wood staves, caramel and sweetness TASTE Very intense flavors; a big crescendo of wood blending perfectly with deep, complex and rich notes of vanilla and caramel FINISH Smooth and subtle PROOF 94

Country: United States

The first European settlers to consider growing grapevines in the United States must have been delighted when they discovered the now famous wine regions within California, Oregon and elsewhere. Not even in the Old World are there such fertile valleys, made ideal for vine cultivation by the blazing sunshine, long, hot summers and oceanic breezes. As such, it comes as little surprise that today more than eighty-nine percent of United States wines are grown in the valleys and on the mountainsides of California, where arguably some of the finest produce in the world is found. However, American wine does not begin and end with California, and due to the vast size of the country and the incredible range of terrains and climates found within the United States, there is probably no other country on earth which produces such a massive diversity of wines. From ice wines in the northern states, to sparkling wines, aromatized wines, fortified wines, reds, whites, rosés and more, the United States has endless surprises in store for lovers of New World wines.
