Clos Du Bois Winery and Vineyard

California Wine, Alexander Valley

About Clos Du Bois Vineyard Wines

Clos du Bois' winery and estate vineyards (pronounced Clo dew Bwah) are located in Alexander Valley, in the northern part of the Sonoma County wine region. Over the years, we find our signature wine style has developed around the characteristics of the grapes grown in this region, which are known for round and supple flavors, creating elegant, smooth, approachable wines. Clos du Bois wines enjoy a similar reputation. Our wines have a natural affinity with food, complementing, rather than overwhelming food flavors.

Our Estate includes 925 vineyard acres in Alexander Valley. In addition to our Estate vineyards, Clos du Bois Winery sources grapes from nearly 200 growers in other Sonoma County appellations, including Dry Creek Valley, Russian River Valley, Chalk Hill, Carneros and Knights Valley. The strength of our grower relationships ensures a continued supply of high quality grapes.

Clos Du Bois Winery 2001 Reserve Chardonnay

Tropical fruit flavors of pineapple and guava are highlighted by nuances of vanilla, coconut and spiciness that is reminiscent of ginger. The rich silky texture leads to a long elegant finish in this Clos du Bois winery reserve chardonnay.

Clos Du Bois Winery 1990 Marlstone Meritage

Since 1978, Marlstone has been produced from a specific block of designated Alexander Valley vineyards. Originally, Marlstone was a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot until the more recent introduction of several other Bordeaux varieties — Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. In the spring, after all the red wines have completed malolactic fermentation and have been racked several times, we evaluate the samples of each wine from the Marlstone vineyard and determine which ones exhibit the rich flavors and elegant balance that are the hallmark of Marlstone. The varietal makeup of the blend differs from vintage to vintage.

Clos Du Bois Winery 2001 Reserve Pinot Noir

The deep ruby color and delicate aromas and flavors of the Russian River Valley Pinot are typical of hillside fruit. Aromas of cherry and berry, followed by juicy flavors of dark ripe cherry that are delivered in a silky mouth feel.

Clos Du Bois Winery 2001 Reserve Tempranillo

Tempranillo is the primary grape variety of Spain's famous Rioja wines. Our Reserve Tempranillo shows fresh fruity berry aromas with cherry and plum hints of smoky, roasted oak and cedar permeate this medium bodied wine.

Clos Du Bois Winery 2000 Reserve Malbec

Our 2000 Alexander Valley Reserve Malbec exhibits a deep purple color and opens with fragrant aromas of blackberry and black cherry with earthy notes of oak. This vintage shows bright flavors of berry, cherry, cocoa and toasted nut.
