The 2016 Enira is a 49/33 blend of Syrah and Merlot, with 14% Petit Verdot and a dollop of Cabernet Sauvignon. It was aged for 12 months in used oak of various ages. It comes in at 14.45% alcohol. This adds some power and complexity to the Petit Enira, thanks to the heavier emphasis on Syrah here. Given that the price difference is a mere $2, just pick which flavor profile you like best. This seems fresher and more lifted, with those beefy Syrah nuances on display. The Petit Enira is a little more neutral. This regular Enira also adds a bit more power. They both easily outperform their price categories and are a lot of wine for the money. The only problem for the winery is that a lot of folks will not bother to trade up in the lineup. In the meanwhile, this drinks well now. It should hold (and perhaps develop along the way) for much of the rest of this decade, but there is no compelling reason you have to wait.
