Professional Wine Reviews for P. Callot Champagne Brut Blanc De Blancs NV

Rated 90 by Wine Advocate
Based on the 2015 vintage and disgorged in December 2018, the latest rendition of Callot’s NV Brut Blanc de Blancs is showing well, offering up aromas of lemon oil, green apple, confit citrus, pastry cream and toasted almonds. Medium to full-bodied, rich and textural, it’s a generous, gourmand wine, its fleshy core of fruit girdled by ripe acids. Open and inviting, this pleasure-bent wine is already drinking well.
Rated 88 by Vinous Media
The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs offers good immediacy in a fairly upfront style. The dosage of 10 grams per liter is felt in the wine's soft edges and slightly sweet personality. Even so, this is a tasty, aperitif-styled Champagne to drink over the next few years. The current release is 50% 2011 and 50% a perpetual reserve going back nearly three decades. Dosage is 10 grams per liter. Disgorged: July 2014.

Winery P. Callot

Region: Champagne

The beautiful north-easterly region of Champagne in France is famous around the world for the production of the exquisite sparkling white wines which characterize the region. All over the globe, bottles of wine from Champagne are celebrated and enjoyed, and their fame has come about through generations of expertise and experimentation, and a dedication to quality which raises the bar for producers of sparkling wines everywhere. The vast majority of grapes grown in this special region are of the Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Petit Meunier varietals, the principle grapes used for the production of Champagne sparkling white wines. The region itself is far cooler than many other important French wine regions, but this hasn't stopped the dozens of wineries in Champagne from making their distinctive and much-loved produce.

Country: France

Year in, year out, France enjoys its prestigious reputation as the producer of the finest wines in the world. With a wine making history which spans several thousand years and owes its expertise to the Romans, it comes as little surprise that this most highly esteemed of the Old World wine countries continues to impress and enchant both novices and experts to this day. Despite the rise in quality of wines from neighboring European countries, not to mention the New World, the French wine industry continues to boom, with up to eight billion bottles being produced in recent years. However, France prides itself on always putting quality before quantity, and the wide range in fine produce is a testament to the dedication and knowledge of the wineries across the country. Indeed, from rich and complex reds to light and aromatic white wines, French wines are as varied and interesting as they are enjoyable to drink, making this country a firm favorite for wine lovers across the globe.
