About Pacific Echo Vineyard and Winery
Founded in 1981, Pacific Echo Winery is committed to producing sparkling wine of unsurpassed quality, emulating the standards set by the finest Champagne houses. With the guidance of winemaker Tex Sawyer, the winery is equally dedicated to achieving full expression of the Anderson Valley's singular style with every sparkling cuvée.
The name Pacific Echo captures the essence of the winery's mission: draw from the rich and resonant traditions established by the French, yet build upon the Anderson Valley's unique foundation on the rugged Pacific Coast, to produce America's foremost premium sparkling wine.
Pacific Echo Winery sparkling wines are crafted with select Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes which have reached optimal levels of ripeness and acidity, and are vinified using the centuries-old méthode champenoise process.
Although relatively rare in California, all Pacific Echo Winery fruit undergoes 100% malolactic fermentation, as do most Champagnes, to ensure rich, complex flavors and a round, creamy and lengthy finish. The 35,000 square foot state-of-the-art winery, completed in 1991, features presses specifically designed for sparkling wines, enabling winemaker Tex Sawyer to produce sparkling wines of consistent and superior quality, year after year.
Exemplified by its non-vintage Brut, the Pacific Echo style is crisp and dry with a fruity, refreshing finish. Fragrant, floral notes and citrus aromas, typical of the Anderson Valley, are exhibited throughout the entire range of wines. In recent years, these wines have been widely acknowledged as among the finest produced in America.
Pacific Echo Winery Echo Brut
Pacific Echo Brut, a classically-styled méthode champenoise sparkling wine, exemplifies our signature style with pronounced toasty aromas, firm body and a crisp, refreshing finish. This non-vintage wine is noted for its forward lemon and pear flavors, characteristic of the Anderson Valley. A blend of 2/3 Pinot Noir and 1/3 Chardonnay, our Brut consistently ranks among the finest sparkling wines on the market.
Pacific Echo Winery Crémant
Pacific Echo Crémant, an unusually rich and smooth sparkling wine, is produced with less effervescence than our non-vintage Brut, with just a hint of sweetness. Blended with both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, the Crémant exhibits forward fruit and vanilla flavors and has an exceptionally creamy mousse. This off-dry wine is a classic partner to fruit desserts, and a refreshing counterpart to spicy Asian cuisine.
Pacific Echo Winery Blanc de Blancs
Pacific Echo Blanc de Blancs possesses the rare quality of being both rich in fruit and delicate in body. Made of 100% Chardonnay from the finest vineyards in the Anderson Valley, this wine is marked by complex notes of citrus, toast and vanilla. Light and crisp throughout with a lasting finish, the Blanc de Blancs makes an elegant apéritif, and wonderfully complements caviar, sushi and light fish courses.
Pacific Echo Winery Brut Rosé
Pacific Echo Brut Rosé exhibits a delicate coral color and abounds with ripe berry flavors. Although a blend of both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, it is the Pinot which predominates -- with robust red wine structure and a long, lively finish. The Brut Rosé will hold up to a variety of foods and pairs especially well with grilled salmon, poultry and lamb.
Pacific Echo Winery Private Reserve Brut
Pacific Echo Private Reserve Brut, made only in the finest years, is created to showcase the finesse, elegance and sophistication attainable from Anderson Valley fruit. An equal blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, this full-flavored wine demonstrates complex toasty aromas, refined floral notes on the palate, and a rich, lengthy finish. Available in limited quantities.
