Robert Craig Winery is a small, ultra-premium winery, renowned for hand-crafting limited quantities of Cabernet Sauvignon from exceptional wine grapes in the great appellations of the Napa Valley.
Robert Craig Winery has consistently ranked among the foremost Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon producers since its founding in 1992. Named one of California’s top 25 "five-star" wineries, Robert Craig Winery has garnered 90+ ratings in major wine publications including The Wine Spectator, Wine Advocate, Connoisseurs’ Guide and Underground Wine Journal.
The Robert Craig wine program is based on the concept of "Two Mountains and a Valley," which showcases three limited-production Cabernet Sauvignons:
Affinity, our Bordeaux-style Cabernet blend of grapes from the Valley floor Mt. Veeder Cabernet from the rugged Western slopes of Napa Valley Howell Mountain Cabernet from high atop Napa Valley’s eastern range.
Each of these wines conveys the "terroir" of the growing region’s unique soils, climate, and varietal characteristics. Although the vineyards used to make these wines are only a few miles apart, each Cabernet has very distinctive profile of aromas and flavors.
Robert Craig Winery winemaking style emphasizes rich, concentrated fruit flavors and ripe, approachable tannins, creating wines that are delicious and inviting upon release, with all of the structure for long-term aging.
In addition to our three Cabernet Sauvignons, the winery produces small quantities of Chardonnay from Carneros and Russian River Valley, Amador County Zinfandel, and Central Coast Syrah.
This mountain-grown cabernet maintains a tension and austerity even as the fruit has ripened to a soft, blackberry jam. It's plump and generous, the fruit lasting against austere, mountain-grown tannins, a blanket of berries to pour over a bite of pepper steak.
Wins points for its delicate, understated richness and balance, offering complex herb, spice, currant and earthy anise scents. Gains depth and nuance on the long, rich aftertaste.
Sporting a fine balance between the vitality inherent in Russian River fruit and the richer aspects of well-managed ripeness and handsome oak, this deep and well-formed youngster marries a good dose of sweet barrel spice with lots of energetic, juicy applethemes.
Mouthwatering sweet fruit and clove bouquet leads to concentrated cherry fruit studded with warm spices and silky vanilla oak. Picks up cranberry on the generous finish. Ready to drink now and over the next three years.
