In the early 1970s Silver Oak emerged as a dream tied to an intrepid idea: to create a Cabernet Sauvignon of fully developed flavors and velvety soft textures on the day it was released for sale.
The elegance and finesse of our wines have attracted as zealous a circle of customers as any winery can boast, and we are truly grateful for their allegiance, although we will never relax in our pursuit of perfection. We believe that we have yet to make our best bottle of wine, and we will never stop trying.
Alexander Valley vineyards
At Silver Oak we understand that nothing is as important to our Cabernet Sauvignon as our vineyards. Our winery was founded by grape growers with a keen sense for choosing the properties where Cabernet Sauvignon thrives. Today we farm about 200 acres in Alexander Valley and we spend a great deal of our time and resources to ensure the success and sustainability of these vineyards.
Silver Oak Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon, Alexander Valley
Silver Oak Winery Cabernet Sauvignon: This wine is a classic, rich Cabernet Sauvignon with a dark, ruby color and a complex nose of cassis, blueberries, cherries, nutmeg, chocolate and sandalwood. It is luscious and full-bodied on the palate and has a long, fruit-laden finish reminiscent of licorice. It will be a huge crowd pleaser when released... It should show well for the next 12 - 15 years.
Silver Oak Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley
If ever there was an award for California's favorite wine, Silver Oak would certainly top the list. It is consistently one of the most sought-after Cabernets of every vintage and with good reason: it is a velvety, classy Cabernet that has developed a style all its own that sets it apart from the cookie cutter Cabs being produced everywhere today. It is the epitome of terroir. The 1998 Napa Valley is a blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot. It displays a dark ruby color and a complex nose of cassis, coffee, cocoa, and allspice. It is rich and full on the palate with a long, fruit-filled finish. This intense wine will continue to improve until 2013 given proper cellaring.
