With his wife Yeraz, son, and winemaker Alberto Antonini, Zorik has made Zorah a world-renowned name. 'It all started as a hobby, but it got a little out of hand,' he says, laughing. This Heritage label is 100% Chilar, an ancient native white grape of Armenia from vineyards located at 1,500 metres above sea level. The wine ferments in clay amphora, remaining in contact with the skins for about 60 days, and refines in the same container for another nine months. It's a pale lemon colour with aromas of pure white peach and pears and notes of anis. The wine is rich and intense without feeling heavy. • 100% Chilar. • The grapes are gathered from select rows in Zorah’s estate holdings in Vayotz Dzor. • Vine age: 30-40 years old. • Hand-picked. • Fermented with native yeasts and aged in large, traditional Armenian clay amphora with 60 days of skin contact. • Aging continues in small amphora for an additional 9 months with a further 10 months in bottle.
