The 2018 Aloxe-Corton Village comes from four parcels in the appellation. It has a backward nose that demands coaxing to reveal tertiary, almost gravelly scents entwined with the black fruit. The medium-bodied palate offers sweet, supple tannins. Elegant for an Aloxe-Corton, with a harmonious, lightly spiced finish. Enjoy over the next decade.

A ripe and attractively layered nose combines notes of both red and dark cherry that are laced with hints of earth, the sauvage and a whisper of violet. There is once again fine volume to the impressively rich and seductive medium weight flavors where the supporting tannins are not particularly refined, but I like the depth and persistence. This is a fine Aloxe villages and worth checking out. (Top Value)

Tollot-Beaut’s Aloxe-Corton is from vines planted between 1973 and 1993. The wine shows aromas and flavors of red cherries, red plum, violets, and earth with bright acidity and moderate tannins. It aged for 18 months in 30% new Burgundian pièce.
