Saratoga Wine Exchange (“Saratogawine.com,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website saratogawine.com (our “site”).

This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, contact us (see section 11).

1. Personal Information We Collect

Personal information is information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you. We collect the following when you give it to us, for example when you create an account, place an order, sign up for email, or contact us:

• Contact information: your name, billing and shipping addresses, email address, and phone number.
• Payment information: your card details. These go directly to our payment processor, and we never store your card number.
• Gift recipient information: the recipient’s name and address and any gift message, used only to process and deliver the gift.
• Order information: what you buy, when you buy it, and your order and delivery history.
• Account information: your login details and account settings.
• Preferences you choose to share with us, such as wines you save to your wishlist and the types of email offers you want to receive.
• Messages you send us through our contact form, by email, or by phone.

We also collect some information automatically when you visit our site. See section 4.

2. How We Use Personal Information

We use personal information to:

• process and deliver your orders, including payment, shipping, and age verification;
• manage your account and provide customer service;
• send order confirmations, shipping updates, and other account notices;
• send marketing emails you’ve signed up for, which you can unsubscribe from at any time (see section 6);
• understand how our site is used and improve it, subject to your cookie choices (see section 4);
• prevent fraud, keep our site secure, and comply with the law, including alcohol shipping laws; and
• for other purposes we tell you about when we collect the information, or with your consent.

3. Sharing Personal Information

We share personal information only in these situations:

• Service providers that help us run our business, such as payment processing, shipping, website hosting, email delivery, analytics, and customer service.
• Analytics and advertising services, through cookies, only if you allow Analytics or Marketing cookies (see section 4).
• Legal and safety reasons: to comply with the law or legal process, enforce our terms, protect our rights or property, prevent fraud or crime, or protect anyone’s safety.
• Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred to the new owner.
• With your consent, or for other purposes we tell you about when we collect the information.

We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

4. Cookies and Automatically Collected Information

When you visit our site, our servers and service providers automatically receive some technical information. This includes your IP address and the approximate location it indicates (such as your city or state), your browser and device type, the page that referred you, and which pages you view and when. We use it to run the site, keep it secure, and understand how people use it.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. We also use similar technologies, such as pixels and tracking scripts. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of them.

Your choices

• On your first visit, a banner asks you to choose. Analytics and Marketing cookies stay off until you allow them. Closing or ignoring the banner is not consent.
• Change your mind any time with the Cookie Preferences link at the bottom of every page.
• Your choice is saved in your browser for 12 months. After that, we ask again. It applies only to the browser and device you are using. If you clear your cookies, we will ask again.
• Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of Analytics and Marketing cookies. This includes any sale or sharing of your information for advertising. GPC overrides any earlier choice. You can allow those cookies again for our site in Cookie Preferences.
• Do Not Track. Browsers don’t share a standard for Do Not Track signals, so we don’t respond to them. We honor GPC instead.
• Browser settings. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. If you block Necessary cookies, your cart, checkout, and age verification may not work.
• Other opt-outs. Google: Ads Settings and the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Industry programs: Network Advertising Initiative and Digital Advertising Alliance.

5. Accessing and Updating Your Information

You can review and update your account information at any time by signing in to your account, and you can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time (see section 6). If you have questions about your personal information, please contact us (see section 11).

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, including legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution purposes.

6. Email Communications

Order and account emails. We send emails about your orders and account, such as order confirmations, shipping updates, and password resets. You can’t opt out of these, because we need them to serve you.

Marketing emails. If you sign up, we send emails about our wines and special offers. You can unsubscribe, or change which emails you receive, at any time by using the links at the bottom of any marketing email. You can also email us at info@saratogawine.com.

7. How We Protect Your Information

We use reasonable technical, physical, and administrative safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Card payments are handled by our payment processor, and we never store your card number. No website is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee the security of information sent to or stored on our site. Please use a strong, unique password for your account and don’t share it.

8. Links to Other Websites

Our site may link to websites run by others. We don’t control those websites and aren’t responsible for their privacy practices, so please review their privacy policies before sharing information with them.

9. Age Requirement and Children’s Privacy

Our site is intended only for adults 21 and older, and you must be 21 or older to buy from us. Deliveries and in-store pickups generally require the signature of an adult 21 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21. If we learn that we have, we will delete it unless the law requires us to keep it. 10. Users Outside the United States

We are based in the United States, and our site is intended for customers in the United States. If you visit from another country, your information will be processed and stored in the United States, and in other countries where our service providers operate. Privacy laws there may differ from those where you live.
