The 2006 Pavillon Rouge de Château Margaux is now fully mature on the nose with ferrous aromas, red fruit, peppercorn and light cedar scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly savoury entry and a keen line of acidity, again slightly ferrous. The gentle tannins have softened over 20 years, with less of the medicinal/eucalyptus traits found elsewhere. There is just a little rusticity towards the finish that I can certainly abide. Drinking perfectly now.
