Subtle wood sets off elegant pure essence of red pinot fruit, lavender, violet and wet stone scents. There is excellent detail and superb complexity to the intensely mineral-driven middle weight flavors that possess impeccably good balance and length on the ever-so-mildly austere finish. As is often the case when this is young it is quite linear at present and will require several years of cellaring to really flesh out.

Bright medium red. Piquant, high-pitched aromas of raspberry, strawberry, rose petal and crushed stone, plus a slightly intrusive oaky quality. Dense, savory and seamless but at the same time quite dry and serious, showing a distinctly saline minerality and excellent energy to its sappy flavors of berries, stone and underbrush. A powerful expression of soil, finishing with a firm spine of noble tannins and mounting perfume. There's something Musigny-like about this uncompromisingly dry wine, which may ultimately merit an even higher score if it successfully absorbs its oak element.

Bright garnet in colour with a delicate nose disclosing fruity and oaky notes. The palate reveals fruity, toasty notes such as black cherry and a firm tannic structure. An elegant, delicate and very distinctive wine. Serve with: Pigeon with grapes, duck breast with mushrooms, roast turkey.
