The 2022 Corton Le Rognet Grand Cru has a ripe and generous bouquet with dark cherries, raspberry coulis and subtle blueberry scents, hints of sous-bois and potpourri percolating through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit, a dash of cracked black pepper and cloves, leading to a nicely structured, quite elegant (for a Corton) finish. Superb

92-95 This is also aromatically deeply pitched with aromas of wild dark currant, poached plum and whiffs of the sauvage. There is a gorgeous textured to the broad-shouldered and overtly powerful flavors that coat the palate with sappy dry extract on the exceptionally long if decidedly firm, compact and balanced finale. This excellent effort is very much a 'buy and forget you own it' wine.

Winery Notes

This grand cru from the Côte de Beaune has an expression significantly different from other vintages of the estate in Côte-de-Nuits. The tender and weathered marl limestone which forms the basis of the soil produces wines with harmonious, polished tannins and a subtle acidity. The Corton Grand Cru Le Rognet offers a velvety texture (young peach, jammy fruits, figs) with ample charm, punctuated by smoky notes (cured ham), and animated by a fine minerality that stretches the finish.
