The late Baroness Philippine de Rothschild of MOUTON ROTHSCHILD in Bordeaux discovered this ancient estate in the late 1990s and acquired it in 1998. Recognizing the great potential here, the Rothschild family began replanting and modernizing the winemaking facilities, and today, we taste both their red and white wines with Estate Director Augustine Deschamps. The red blend is based on Merlot and other Bordeaux grapes, with accents from Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Malbec, and Grenache, while the white is almost entirely Chardonnay, with a touch of Chenin Blanc.

Under Deschamps’ leadership, Domaine de Baronarques has continued its transformation into a high-quality producer, applying Bordeaux-style vineyard management and winemaking techniques to its Languedoc terroir.
