A terrific Pomerol, the 2020 Château De Valois has a deep ruby/plum hue and offers a classy nose of red and black fruits, leafy herbs, truffly earth, tobacco, and iron. It's grippy and medium-bodied on the palate, with focused precision, a nicely textured mouthfeel, solid tannins, and outstanding length. This nuanced effort is in the early stages of its prime drinking window and has another decade of life ahead. Drink 2025-2035.

Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Sandy, fine gravel and iron rich soil. Aged 13 months in French oak barrels without any rackings. Valois is located just near Cheval Blanc.
