The bright golden colored, almost fluorescent white 2022 Flor de Albihar was made with purchased grapes in the Albillo zone of Cebreros that were harvested early (mid-August) to retain the acidity, resulting in a light to medium-bodied wine with 12% alcohol and a pH of 3.31. It fermented with the skins for 20 days and matured in a 2,500-liter oak foudre with the lees for around 10 months; the 2023 will be aged for two winters, like the reds. It’s aromatic and Mediterranean, with notes of dry hay and straw, chamomile and pollen. The palate is quite vibrant and has great freshness, which is surprising for the conditions of the year. 1,164 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2023.
