In the bottle with the black label, the Graci 2019 Etna Rosso Arcurìa Sopra il Pozzo shows a light ruby color with aromas of wild berry, toasted almond and volcanic ashy sensations. The wine starts off slowly in terms of its aromas, but it does open fully to eventually cede to dusty tannins and a long finish. This bottle is aging beautifully.

The 2019 Etna Rosso Arcuria Sopra il Pozzo is impossible to ignore, with a mélange of exotic spices, blood orange, incense and dried black cherries forming its bouquet. It's surprisingly juicy and energetic, with vibrant acidity and tactile mineral tones up front that further enhance its tart wild berry fruits. It tapers off classically dry and structured, leaving a pleasantly bitter tinge and fine-grained tannins that penetrate deeply. An air of violet inner florals and lavender lingers on the close. This is beautifully balanced and complex. The 1.5-hectare Sopra il Pozzo parcel contains soils that are a variation of volcanic sand and stone.
