Aberlour Scotch Single Malt 16 Year 750ml

A toasty nose with aromas of hazelnut, toffee and sugar cookies. Spicier on the palate with plenty of cinnamon, nutmeg and mace, there is a back note of toasted oats and light vanilla accents. The supple mouthfeel is silky all the way through.

The bouquet is austere and leathery with curious aromas of beeswax, vegetable oil and oaky resin. Palate entry is focused on the resin; midpalate is splendidly multilayered and offers elements of black pepper, dried orange blossom, honeysuckle, dried fruit, sage, fennel and confections. Aftertaste is deep and unabashedly sweet and honeyed.

Dark amber color. Aromas of raisins, dates, jasmine tea, toasted whole grain bread, turmeric, and banana chips with a velvety, crisp, dry medium body and a smooth, interesting, medium-length brown butter, brown sugar, whole wheat scones with honey, and sherry finish. A rich and chewy Speyside Malt with a wide range of flavors to dive into.

With the depth and complexity that comes from being matured for 16 years in a combination of American Oak casks and the finest Sherry butts, this expression’s warm and fruity notes are enriched by an engagingly spicy sweetness.
