89-91 The 2014 Nuits St Georges 1er Cru les Murgers was showing a touch of struck match reduction on the nose. It will be interesting to see if that remains in situ post bottling. The palate is sweet and pastille-like on the entry with fleshy red berry fruit infused with brown spice and subtle earthy tones. There is a pleasing structure here, more backbone than the Vougeot Petit Vouget with a slightly brittle finish.
