Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

Kin is a blend of four parcels of Grenache, with a large proportion of whole bunches included in the ferment. This wine slams the door shut on any pretence at fruitiness, preferring to walk a tense and tortured line on the finish. It has the same dramatic tension as a brittle, energetic dry Riesling, and it raises the bar for Grenache higher than any other I’ve tasted in the past year.
The purple skinned grapes of the Grenache varietal have quickly become one of the most widely planted red wine grapes in the world, flourishing in several countries which have the correct conditions in which they can grow to ripeness. They thrive anywhere with a dry, hot climate, such as that found in central Spain and other such arid areas, and produce delightfully light bodied wines full of spicy flavors and notes of dark berries. Their robustness and relative vigor has led them being a favorite grape varietal for wineries all over the world, and whilst it isn't uncommon to see bottles made from this varietal alone, they are also regularly used as a blending grape due to their high sugar content and ability to produce wines containing a relatively high level of alcohol.

Whilst most of Australia consists of arid deserts and dense bushland, the oceanic coasts to the south of the country have a terrain and climate ideal for vine cultivation and wine production. It took several decades of failed attempts at the end of the 18th century in order to produce vines of a decent enough quality for making wine, but since those first false starts, the Australian wine industry has continued to grow and grow. Today, wine production makes up for a considerable part of the Australian economy, with exports in recent years reaching unprecedented levels and even overtaking France for the first time ever. Whilst the greatest successes in regards to quality have been the result of the Syrah grape varietal (known locally as Shiraz), Australia utilizes several Old World grapes, and has had fantastic results from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Riesling, Chardonnay and more. As the Australian passion for locally produced wine continues to develop, wineries have begun experimenting with a wider range of grape varietals, meaning that nowadays it isn't uncommon to find high quality Australian wines made from Petit Verdot, Sangiovese, Tempranillo and Viognier, amongst many others.

The Barossa Valley in Australia is one of the New World's most interesting wine regions, having been established in the late 19th century by German settlers. The region benefits enormously from the relatively temperate climate, which ranges from being hot on the lower parts of the valley, to quite cool as the altitude increases on the valley slopes. Barossa Valley produces mostly Shiraz wines, and has become one of the key Australian regions for this distinctive grape varietal which has gone on to be a major grape for the Australian wine industry. Despite suffering from a poor reputation in the mid 20th century, by the 1980s, plenty of unique and forward-thinking wineries set up in Barossa to take advantage of its excellent climate, and set about producing the excellent red and white wines which the region is famed for today.

Another fine vintage in these parts, slightly cooler than than the majestic 21. A lifted nose, thrumming with fecund strawberry, blood plum and bergamot. A danker chorus of campfire, dried thyme and lavender, dragged across a scale of nebbiolo-like tannins, gritty and precise, indelibly marked by schist. This gently mid-weighted, young vine expression is a brilliant example of contemporary Aussie grenache, by far the most exciting variety in the country of recent times. Quaffable. Drink or hold.

The pretty and modern 2022 Grenache Kin from Barossa shows significant whole bunch influence. It offers up gentle aromas of rose petals, wild raspberry, Chinese five spice and fennel seed to start. It is beautifully pitched with fleshy flavors and stalky well-integrated tannins. The palate twists and turns between sweet fruits and savory stalky influences before a finely tuned finish. This is an intriguing wine.
Winery Notes
The Kin Grenache feels energetic and floral, but give it time and red fruit, blood orange and cardamon will present. A patch of vines on limestone provides vibrancy and definition, necessary for the wine’s drive, with flesh and power from Blocks 22 on clay and 18 on schist.
