This year’s Ardbeg Day release was created with “high gravity” mashing, using less water and more grain in the mash tun to intensify the flavor profile. There’s rich, sweet, and flavorful peat and grilled meats on the nose. Lots of fruit sweetness on the palate, fresh apples, apricots, and vanilla cream. On the finish, excellent length and vanilla sweetness. Great balance and texture throughout, very light and easy to drink, and well-integrated with layers of depth. - Fall 2025

At the heart of the Ardbeg Smokiverse lies the Distillery’s mash tun, responsible for converting our malted barley into fermentable sugars (mashing). We have experimented for the first time with High Gravity mashing. Our whisky creators have used less water and packed in more grain than ever before, compressing every drop of liquid. This dense, unconventional mash has unlocked intense fruity and sweet notes from the depths of the tun, creating the Smokiverse Ardbeg Day bottling. A rich, creamy mouthfeel drifts into sharp, sooty and spicy notes of creosote, aniseed, and clove. Tempered by the distinct sweetness of muscovado sugar, robust woody notes orbit rich charcoal.
