Bonarda is a red grape variety with origins in northern Italy, where it is known as Bonarda Piemontese, and in Argentina, where it is called Bonarda. In Italy, Bonarda Piemontese produces light-bodied red wines with flavors of red fruits such as cherry and raspberry, along with floral and herbal notes. In Argentina, Bonarda is more deeply colored and produces wines that are medium to full-bodied, with intense fruit flavors, moderate acidity, and soft tannins.
