This makes me think about the first pineapples that made it to Europe from the Caribbean during the 17th century, because it has a haunting nose of pineapple that’s anything but simple. Although the fruit here is very ripe, the special vitality and firm mineral structure of this appellation lies behind it, becoming ever more prominent as the wine flows steadily over the palate.
