There are few regions in the world with stricter regulations in regards to wine production and grape varietals than those found in Bordeaux, France. This is really fantastic. Look at the nose, offering blackcurrant and berry aromas with wet earth and fresh mushrooms. Full bodied, linear, very tight and racy. Firm and silky. Just coming around now. Drink and enjoy.

Tasted at Bordeaux Index's annual 10-Year On tasting in London and then at the château.The 2006 Château Batailley has much more fruit intensity on the nose compared to Lynch Moussas: vibrant blackberry, raspberry coulis and cedar scents all vying for attention, the oak neatly assimilated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple ripe red berry fruit, a gentle grip in the mouth and a pleasing, ferrous finish. Give this another 2-3 years in bottle and you will have yourself a very fine Batailley.
