The 2019 Cuvée Vieilles Vignes is darker and more virile than the straight Clarisse. Here the older vines lend power and brooding intensity to the inky blue/black fruit. Blackberry, licorice, espresso and bittersweet chocolate all build into the intense, resonant finish. The 2019 is beautifully done. Give it a year or two to soften.
