Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

The finest wine I’ve tasted from this estate, the 2019 Château La Gaffelière is pure Saint-Emilion brilliance and offers a complex, intense bouquet of red and black fruits, iron, truffly earth, tobacco, and bouquet garni. This carries to a medium to full-bodied, pure, layered, elegant, yet concentrated 2019 with perfect tannins, plenty of mid-palate depth, and a gorgeous finish. It shows the perfumed, elegant, already accessible style of this great vintage (and I thoroughly enjoyed this bottle), but it’s going to evolve gracefully over the coming 30 years or more. Bravo!
There are few regions in the world with stricter regulations in regards to wine production and grape varietals than those found in Bordeaux, France. Here, in the home of the world's finest wines, the type and quality of grapes used is of utmost importance, and the legendary wineries which work on the banks of the Gironde river have mastered the careful art of juice blending to find the perfect balance for their produce. Whilst there are six 'official' Bordeaux grapes, the two key varietals for almost every fine Bordeaux wine are Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and with good reason. The 2019 La Gaffeliere is a blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, it rolls out with pronounced notes of stewed black and red plums, boysenberry preserves, and Indian spices, leading to suggestions of cedar, underbrush, and black olives. The medium to full-bodied palate is lively and refreshing, with fine-grained tannins and delicate red and black fruit layers, finishing minerally.

Its vivid fruit tones and classical balance make this Cabernet Franc-rich blend a promising candidate for sustained bottle age. Anyone who has tasted the great wines this estate produced in the 1950s and 1960s knows how great this site can be; and with stricter selection as well as the elimination of fruit from vines growing on the plain from the blend, that potential appears to be being unleashed at last.

Plump and voluptuous on the palate all while having excellent acidity that really lifts it up, so you have depth but also this real aerial aspect. Tannins are smooth and really well framed and this is super fresh. Delicate yet deep, round yet layered with chalky minerality. Elegant and engaging.

The serious tannic drive on the finish puts this in the 'classically austere' camp. Worth cellaring for sure, but patience is required. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2024 through 2040. 7,500 cases made, 500 cases imported.
