Long-term Pre-arrival Items
Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

There are few regions in the world with stricter regulations in regards to wine production and grape varietals than those found in Bordeaux, France. I have always held up the 2010 La Pointe as one of the high points of recent vintages of this Pomerol estate. After five years in bottle, it has retained that quintessential Pomerol bouquet with black fruit laced with truffle and a touch of iron filings. The palate is still quite structured, although the tannins appear to have melted slightly since I last encountered it. It leads to an intense graphite finish that might lead you astray to the Left Bank, and the aftertaste remains long and satisfying. This is just a superb wine from Eric Monnoret that shows no signs of falling short of the promise that is has shown ever since I first tasted it in barrel. Tasted August 2017.

This has power in reserve, but stays remarkably restrained for now, with a torrent of boysenberry, fig and raspberry fruit held in check by charcoal-studded grip and well-embedded acidity. The long, dense smoked apple wood finish should let this cruise nicely in the cellar. Best from 2015 through 2030.

Dense, nicely concentrated, rich red. Nose is unmistakably Pomerol with earthy, slightly iron-rich Merlot fruit lifted with fragrance from Cabernet Franc. Good, full ruby-red. Raspberry, smoke and flowers on the nose; more obviously oaky today than some recent vintages at this stage. Bright and juicy on the palate, with solid underlying structure to the floral red berry, black plum and lead pencil flavors. Finishes clean and long, with smooth, creamy tannins. La Pointe is one of the most improved Pomerol estates in recent years and its wines offer plenty of charm and early drinking appeal.
