Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

There are few regions in the world with stricter regulations in regards to wine production and grape varietals than those found in Bordeaux, France. Here, in the home of the world's finest wines, the type and quality of grapes used is of utmost importance, and the legendary wineries which work on the banks of the Gironde river have mastered the careful art of juice blending to find the perfect balance for their produce. The 2005 Lafleur is a blend of 67% Merlot and 33% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-brick in color, it is youthful and wonderfully fragrant on the nose, with a good swirling awakening notions of roses and lilacs, fallen leaves, and tilled soil, leading to a profound core of kirsch, blueberry pie, and plum preserves. Full-bodied, tightly knit, muscular, and with impressive freshness, it has a firm and grainy texture, finishing long and fragrant. Enjoying this wine now will certainly not disappoint, but there is certainly a lot more to emerge over the next 10-20 years with patient cellaring. Drink it to 2060+. It has been partly owned by the Guinaudeau family since the mid-1980s and fully since 2002. Located on the Pomerol plateau, next to Petrus and La Fleur Petrus, the vineyard only covers about 11 acres, but with quite complex soils of gravel, sand and clay, planted to 50% Cabernet Franc and 50% Merlot.

Jacques Guinaudeau describes 2005 as the 'deckchair vintage': 'It was such a perfect harvest that we only had to let nature take its course.’ That said, this is an utterly brilliant and sublime Lafleur, and for me is one of the standout wines of this great vintage. Interestingly there is a higher percentage of Merlot, at 61%. It has a floral, liquorice nose with ink and cassis notes, while the palate is full, sweet and mouthfilling, with flavours of dark chocolate, plum skin, graphite and creamy, ripe black fruits. Exquisitely sculpted tannins are offset by bright, racy acidity, giving this wine a gorgeously seamless texture, balance and a mind boggling finish. Utterly graceful and rivetingly compelling.
