One of the oldest estates in St-Emilion, Château Larmande is unquestionably a property on the up, the quality of the 2015 a testament to the investment that has been made here in recent years. Sourced from vines averaging age of 25 years of age, it’s a blend of 65% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. After fermenting in stainless steel vats, it was aged for 18 months in 60% new and 40% second-use barrels. Gareth Birchley: Lovely, elegant nose. Lifted and ethereal. Silky smooth and minty. Very fine, with great length. Just brilliant. Vincenzo Arnese: Textbook. Elegant and complex. Nose is fresh and ripe with lingering aromas. Defined fruit. Palate shows richness and texture, and rich yet integrated tannins. Arthur Coggill: Dense, compelling nose. Sweetly spiced black cherry, smoky saline touches, whisky-like depth. Gentle mouthfeel; generous, with real depth. Sour damson. Smoky, rewarding finish.
