The 2020 Siaurac is a racy, explosive wine that shows the more exuberant side of the vintage. Super-ripe dark cherry, plum, kirsch, mocha and new leather race out of the glass. This exuberant Lalande de Pomerol is captivating in its beauty and sheer allure, but it is very much on the more opulent side of things.
There are few regions in the world with stricter regulations in regards to wine production and grape varietals than those found in Bordeaux, France. Here, in the home of the world's finest wines, the type and quality of grapes used is of utmost importance, and the legendary wineries which work on the banks of the Gironde river have mastered the careful art of juice blending to find the perfect balance for their produce. Whilst there are six 'official' Bordeaux grapes, the two key varietals for almost every fine Bordeaux wine are Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and with good reason. Whilst Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are renowned for their acidity and astringency, strong fruit and spice flavors and full body, Merlot grapes are notably rounded, soft, fleshy and lighter on tannin. The combination of these two varietals, along with a small percentage of (commonly) Petit Verdot or Cabernet Franc, is the perfect balancing act – the two grape varietals cancel out each others weaker points, and accentuate all that is good about the other.
France, often regarded as the heart of the wine world, boasts a rich history, diverse terroirs, and a captivating variety of grape varietals. From the renowned vineyards of Bordeaux to the picturesque landscapes of Burgundy, France offers a wine lover’s dream journey. 90-92 Beautiful, fresh, almost crunchy fruits of black cherry and mulberries emerge from the 2020 Château Siaurac, and it’s medium-bodied on the palate, with bright acidity and a balanced, clean, layered style that has lots to love.

Aromas of blackcurrants and blackberries with tobacco, dark spices and cedar. Medium-bodied with chewy tannins and a juicy fruit character. Flavorful and delicious. 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc. Drink or hold.

Supple and generous, this has a nice bounce to it with succulent, almost sweet red cherry flavours balanced by liquorice giving a savoury edge and just stopping some of the fruit forwardness. Tannins are lovely, and this has a great weight, just a bit brooding right now. Plump and round still with freshness and a spiced finish.

88-90 The 2020 Siaurac sports a deep purple-black color and fragrant notions of spiced plums, boysenberries and chocolate-covered cherries, with hints of menthol and unsmoked cigars. The medium to full-bodied palate is laden with ripe black berry layers, framed by velvety tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long with a minty lift.
