Long-term Pre-arrival Items
Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

There are few regions in the world with stricter regulations in regards to wine production and grape varietals than those found in Bordeaux, France. Here, in the home of the world's finest wines, the type and quality of grapes used is of utmost importance, and the legendary wineries which work on the banks of the Gironde river have mastered the careful art of juice blending to find the perfect balance for their produce. Whilst there are six 'official' Bordeaux grapes, the two key varietals for almost every fine Bordeaux wine are Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, and with good reason. Whilst Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are renowned for their acidity and astringency, strong fruit and spice flavors and full body, Merlot grapes are notably rounded, soft, fleshy and lighter on tannin. The combination of these two varietals, along with a small percentage of (commonly) Petit Verdot or Cabernet Franc, is the perfect balancing act – the two grape varietals cancel out each others weaker points, and accentuate all that is good about the other.

The Margaux appellation of France's legendary Bordeaux wine region is one of the world's most famous and highly respected viticultural areas. For centuries, Margaux has been deeply associated with extremely fine wines of the highest quality, made using traditional and time-honored techniques in order to extract the very best, most refined and elegant flavors and aromas from the Bordeaux varietal grapes which grow there. Margaux wines are almost always blended, using two or three key Bordeaux grapes, commonly Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc (amongst others). After a low period, Siran has come back in 2010 with this solid, tannic, firm and serious wine. There is plenty of blackberry flavor to flesh out the structure, resulting in a wine for medium-term aging.

Tasted at the vertical held at the property, the 2010 Château Siran, a blend of 46% Merlot, 43% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Petit Verdot, has a very fresh and captivating bouquet with raspberry coulis, blackberry and cedar aromas that are still backward, but should repay further bottle age. With aeration, there is just a touch of fig that comes through. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine structure, a little grainy in the mouth with tar and graphite-tinged black fruit. What differentiates this from the 2009 is the precision on the finish and though the 2009 Siran has improved in bottle, the 2010 still has the edge. This is a very well-crafted Siran, but it needs several more years in bottle. Tasted February 2016.

This has a plush feel overall, packed with flavors of cocoa, espresso, bay leaf, roasted mesquite, plum sauce and black currant preserves. The slightly dusty structure is well-embedded in the fruit, offering a tug of earth at the very end and leaving a mouthwatering impression.
