Long-term Pre-arrival Items
Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux Saint-Jacques is also showing well from bottle, wafting from the glass with a deep bouquet of red berries, spices, orange rind, woodsmoke and rich soil tones. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, supple and succulent, with velvety tannins, lively acids and a layered core, concluding with a long and fragrant finish.

91-93 The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux St.-Jacques offers wild strawberry, blood orange and light mineral aromas on the nose. This already feels enticing. The palate displays a fine backbone, quite a "cool" Gevrey-Chambertin, with slightly darker and more introspective fruit than the Premier Cru, yet still with fine tension on the edgy, structured finish. Good potential here but it is not going to be a Lavaux that runs out and hugs you in its first few years.

89-92 An overtly sauvage-inflected nose reveals notes of cool earth, plum, floral and underbrush along with forest floor hints. The muscular, round and denser medium-bodied flavors possess excellent punch and power before delivering fine length on the austere and serious finish. As is usually the case with this wine, it's going to need at least moderate patience.
