Long-term Pre-arrival Items
Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

The one white here, the 2015 Nelin has a base of Garnacha Blanca and Macabeo (the grape that in Rioja is called Viura) from vines ranging between five and 20 years of age. This underwent a 10- to 15-day cold soak followed by a slow fermentation, which can last from five to 15 months! In fact, this is a vintage that took a full 15 months to ferment. It matured in 1,200-liter oak vats for 12 months followed by six months in stainless steel. The extremely long fermentation resulted in a closed, austere wine that should develop very slowly, as it was in a reductive phase for a very long time. This is a very austere and serious white that is more about soil than fruit. There are subtle aromas of dried flowers, chamomile and wet stones, and the palate is round, complete and has integrated acidity and supple flavors with a mineral, austere finish. They believe this wine is better two years after bottling and that it develops for a long time in bottle. There is no Viognier in this vintage, and they are slowly removing foreign varieties. 7,500 bottles were filled in June 2016. This is one of the best whites from Priorat.

The beautiful Spanish wine region of Catalunya has a history of viticulture which stretches back for over a thousand years, and has been influenced by a wide range of people who moved through the region, and brought their wine making skills and expertise with them. The region itself is a sizeable one, covering an area of sixty thousand hectares, and within this space there resides over two hundred individual wineries, ranging from small, independent and traditional ones to the larger, mass production bodegas known around the world. The terroir of Catalunya is varied, and ranges from being dry and arid, to more lush and green in the wetter parts of the region which are closer to the coast. This variation in terroir results in a fantastic range of grape varietals being grown, and a wide range of wine styles are produced within Catalunya.
