92-94 Bright, dark red. Subtle, airy aromas of dark berries, rose petal and licorice. Spicy, firm-edged and tight; leaner and more imploded than the Charmes-Chambertin but already shows superb intensity and inner-mouth aromatic lift. Most impressive today on the rising, suavely tannic finish, which tickles the taste buds with raspberry and rose petal perfume. A very classy grand cru.

92-94 There is a hint of menthol on the super floral, elegant, cool and airy red currant, spice and pungently earthy aromas. There is terrific delineation and punch to the much more mineral-driven flavors that possess a radically different texture that continues onto the gorgeously persistent finish. This isn't as concentrated as the Charmes but it is incredibly long and about the only nit is a hint of warmth. Note well though that this is not a good candidate for early consumption.
