Long-term Pre-arrival Items
Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

The 2010 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a generous bouquet with ebullient red fruit, strawberry and cranberry, touches of candied orange peel and white flowers, and a hint of leather indicating that secondary scents are on the horizon. The palate has a sweet, ripe entry, gentle grip, a little meaty and savoury in style with a judicious touch of iron towards the Mazoyères-like finish (where two-thirds of the fruit comes from). This is very impressive and drinking beautifully now.

92-94 The 2010 Charmes-Chambertin is deep, fleshy and totally seductive. It boasts striking inner perfume that serves as a recurring thread with which endless nuances of fruit are woven together. Finessed, silky tannins provide the backbone for all of the aromas and flavors to shine. I loved the integrity of the fruit in the Charmes. Rousseau’s Charmes is roughly 60% Mazoyeres and 40% true Charmes. Anticipated maturity: 2020-2035. My visit with Eric Rousseau was one of the highlights of my fall trip. The 2010s are fabulous from top to bottom. Rousseau started picking on September 22. The fruit saw about four days of cold soak followed by a cuvaison that lasted anywhere from 15 to 21 days, depending on the wine.

Burghound
A relatively deeply pitched and still quite fresh and only mildly secondary nose features notes of earth and violets and while there are traces of red berry aromas, this hails more from the dark berry side of the fruit spectrum. There is excellent volume to the very rich and round middle weight plus flavors that possess a velvety mouthfeel on the
focused and impressively long, balanced and ever-so-slightly austere finish. Like many of the better 2010s today, this is
evolving glacially and while it's not so backward that it couldn't be enjoyed today, I would advise waiting another 2 to 5 years before diving in seriously. In a word, lovely.
Winery Notes
Beautifully aromatic. Pure, fresh, and bright cherry, plum, and red berry fruit aromas with a hint of herb and spice. On the palate, the flavors mirror the aromas, with vibrant cherry fruit and silky tannins. It is a very supple wine with a lot of finesse and elegance.
