Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

Les Bêtes Curieuses is a joint venture between talented winemakers Jérémie Huchet and Jérémie Mourat, the latter a winemaker in the coastal appellation of Fiefs-Vendéens. The pale colour of this wine gives little clue that it is already seven years old. A slightly creamy, buttery nose belies the vertical nature of the palate, which has linear acidity with layers of flavour slicing through. Silkily textured with a bit of grip and slight smokiness. Powerful, with a long, long, mineral finish. Delicious.

This 2014 Château Thebuad is a light bodied wine that has a core of elegant power and a lees-derived almond pastry-like character alongside tangy lemon and spiced apples. From a cool vintage, it has firm acidity and sinewy finish. Not for the faint hearted.
Winery Notes
100% Melon de Bourgogne. The Pépière holding in the cru of Château Thébaud is 14 hectares of vines up to 65 years old on a south-facing slope. The key soil component is granite de Thébaud, different from say the granite de Clisson in its higher feldspar and clay content--this means more nutrients for the vines, cooler soil temperatures, slower ripening, better water retention and a porosity that allows the roots to go deep to the hard granite mother rock. The farming is organic and harvest and all work by hand.
As for the rest of the Pepière wines, the fruit is direct-pressed in whole clusters and the juice settled naturally for 12 hours. It is then fermented in stainless steel tanks with natural yeasts; the wine is aged on its lees in large underground vats until bottling without fining or filtering. Thébaud needs longer aging on the lees than any of the other wines, usually at least 3 years. It is typically the most austere, intensely salty and mineral of the line-up.
