Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

The 2020 Châteauneuf du Pape Les Hauts-Lieux comes from a cooler, higher elevation parcel and also includes slightly more Mourvedre, both of which give this cuvée a more firm, structured profile, especially in its youth. Awesome red, blue, and black fruits as well as black licorice, liquid violet, and peppery garrigue define the bouquet, and it’s full-bodied, with a great mid-palate, ripe tannins, and a salty, almost bloody character on the finish. It shows the more charming nature of the 2020 vintage yet still deserves 4-5 years of bottle age and will have over two decades of longevity.

The Rhone Valley of southern France is a particularly fascinating wine region, with a history that stretches back to at least six hundred BCE, when the ancient Greeks first began cultivating vines there. The region itself is split into two distinct sub-regions, with the northern sub-region being famed for its production of exceptional Syrah, Marsanne, Roussane and Viognier wines, packed full of interesting character and expressing the terroir found there. The southern sub-region is home to an enormous variety of grapes, and produces red, white and rosé wines, and some of the world's most famous and adored blended wines. The continental climate of the region is ideal for growing grapes, and the winds which blow from the Central Massif help temper the heat in the vineyards, leading to very ripe fruits holding plenty of flavor.

In a vintage like 2020, the Cabrières terroir, located in the northern part of the appellation and benefiting from shade during the hottest part of the day, proved to be a real asset, as showcased by the 2020 Les Hauts-Lieux. Evoking a deep, complex bouquet of dark cherries, licorice, iris and flowers, this wine is full-bodied, lively and vibrant, with a tense, crystalline texture and a fleshy, dense mid-palate perfectly framed by ripe, velvety and structured tannins. There's a pleasant chewiness to this complex, intensely concentrated Châteauneuf. Spicy and ripe, woven with violet, smoldering incense, salty mineral, earth and warm mocha notes, revealing more nuance with every sip. Hefty bolts of iron offset the ripeness, and a sense of freshness pulses from start to finish. Though a bit mellowed after a few years of bottle age, this remains tightly wound and will benefit from more time. Grenache, Mourvèdre, Counoise and Cinsault. Bright, vibrant, wonderfully smooth tannins and an exceptional expression of Mourvèdre. Lovely blueberry and violet, this is deep and brooding, the alcohol feels a little high but otherwise this is well-balanced and long. No Syrah in the blend here, plentiful Mourvèdre however, which performed well in 2020. From three parcels close to the limestone plateau with some clay, it's at relatively high altitude and thus late ripening, with less exposition to the sun.
