Long-term Pre-arrival Items
Long Term Pre-arrival Definition: Ordering wine directly through us from our supplier partners in Europe in advance of the item’s physical arrival in the US.
Long Term Pre-arrival sales ensure you’re getting the best possible price and that you have also secured the product before it hits the normal retail supply chain. The lead time for Pre-arrival goods is generally 4–8 months, sometimes longer based on supply chain and the logistics of transporting goods overseas. The expectation, from our team, is to communicate to the customer the location of their purchase every step of the way.
This product is offered as a full case purchase option, minimum order quantities may be applicable. When available, multiple case options will be presented. If you are purchasing a Pre-Arrival item you must order a solid case.
Rapid Ship
Items listed as "rapid ship" are in stock and available for immediate pickup or shipment. Those that do not have the "rapid ship" icon are housed with our supplier and must be transferred to our warehouse before they can be picked up or shipped. This requires 4-6 business days but usually occurs sooner. Some products will list both options of availability as there will be a certain number in stock, with the option to order additional bottles to be transferred from the supplier.

94-96 The 2010 Romanee St. Vivant is a hard wine to fully evaluate at this stage. It was the last wine to finish its malolactic fermentation and is therefore developing at a slower pace than the other wines in the lineup. Currently it is the wine’s intensity, energy and drive that come through loud and clear. Given the exceptional level of the estate’s 2010s, there is every reason to be optimistic about the Richebourg. I look forward to re-tasting this wine in a few months, at which time my rating may need to be revised upward. Anticipated maturity: 2022-2035.

Good bright, dark red. Extremely closed nose hints at wild berries, cocoa powder, iron, rose petal and pepper. Juicy, vibrant and youthfully imploded, already showing exciting grip and intensity to its berry, spice and salty mineral flavors. Finishes savory and very long, with fine but firm tannins and lingering spice character. This will need a decade in bottle to unfold.

Burghound
A positively kaleidoscopic array of spice aromas interlace seamlessly with the airy and cool red currant and cassis suffused nose. The mouth feel of the beautifully detailed and intense middle weight flavors is pure silk and the ripe tannins are impeccably well-integrated on the long finish that somewhat incongruously, displays a hint of rusticity. Now this rustic character will, or should in any event, dissipate quickly but my score is slightly conservative as rusticity is not what you expect from a classic RSV.
Winery Notes
It is always a privilege to taste a Romanée Saint Vivant. It is a rare emotion born from being close to a masterpiece of nature and man. It has a sumptuous, imposing appearance and is a bright ruby colour. The bouquet has a radiant richness passing from black cherries to raspberry jelly and blackberry cordial with violets. With age it develops notes of undergrowth and leather. This immense wine has expressive intensity and depth. It is smooth but not flabby, silky but structured, dense but elegant. Everything mingles and links together to create sublime complexity.
